Cook Medical has announced its intention to sell the company’s reproductive health business — Cook ART — to Astorg.

Cook Medical, founded in 1963 and based in Bloomington, Indiana, invents, manufactures and delivers a portfolio of medical devices to healthcare systems worldwide. The company indicated it has been involved in the reproductive health space for more than 30 years.

Astorg is a European private equity firm with a U.S. office in New York.

The transaction announcement indicated Astorg intends to acquire and combine the Cook ART portfolio with Hamilton Thorne, a provider of instruments, consumables, software and services to the assisted reproductive technology research and cell biology spaces.
